Even the old Win95 box I built back in '96 had a LineIn port for my sound card. I would run the RCA Composit cable for the video to the DVC-80 from the VCR (the DVC-80 is connect to the computer thru the USB port. Then I'd run the audio composit cable from the VCR directly to the LineIn (bypassing the DVC-80).

MovieStar is a Dazzle product.and since Pinnacle bought Dazzle they are more interested in supporting Studio8. But the DVC-80mjust sucked, in my opinion.so I upgraded to the DVC-150 which is worlds apart. The 150 capture looks identical to the original VHS tape.the 80 will only give you a blurry facsimily. Please and thank you. And many more than they present on List. Theire software is quite compreensive and will allow you to stipulate a start and finish time. However I think if you want to record more than one channel I think it wont be possible with your card. What you need to choose is Nerovision Express and the option Capture Video to Hard drive, set up the card and away you go. More or less.
