You can use it independently to help improve your knowledge of a subject; it's also a valuable test creation tool for teaching in a class environment. You can input questions and answers on virtually any subject, from vocabulary quizzes to history tests. Navigating Teach2000's multi-lingual installation system is simple enough.

Once installed, the clean, simple interface proved easy to use - you simply enter your information in a text field with columns for questions, answers and supplementary information (alternative answers, wrong answers, images or sound files). An online manual is provided to walk you through the test creation process and there are ready-made sample tests you can use as guides for making your own.
You can create different test types, simple question and answer quizzes or multiple choice. The program allows you to set the criteria for a match between question and answer; you can decide whether to allow different letter cases or minor variations in spelling, for instance. You can also flip the questions and answers around, allowing a different test to be created from the same material - for example, you could swap between a list of words and a list of their definitions. Pro's: Very simple to install and use, versatile and free. Con's: Rather Spartan, drab-looking interface; can't really be used for very complex tests. Conclusion: Within its limitations, this is a great little teaching, learning and testing tool.
