Get excited to Build It! With the T-Rex Fury Roller Coaster Building Set, from KNEX Thrill Rides! This is a wonderful STEM toy. This is our second set of K'Nex and we have been trying them out, really for the first time. My boys love them.

This set is recommended for boys 9 and up, and I would stick to that recommendation because it can be challenging for children younger than that. If you have a child who is already familiar with K'Nex and understands a bit more about engineering with them, then this is right up their alley. All the directions are in step by step pictures, so that the kids can follow along with it easily. My son did need some assistance putting his together on a few parts, but for the most part, he put it together himself. It took him a while to figure it all out on his own, but it was his project and he loved doing it. He did have difficulty with the chain that makes the roller coaster move on the actual ride, we are still trying to figure out the best way to adjust to make that work properly.

But he is engaged and thinking more in depth, how to solve his engineering problem. I love these, they are great for improving problem solving skill and critical thinking. The age range for this toy is ages 9+, but my younger child did well building it with help. Kyocera mita fs c5016n driver for mac.

The quality of the pieces is pretty good, although I do wish they would have been made to be a bit thicker so the structure of the roller coaster wouldn't be as fragile. One of the drawbacks I have with this toy is the link system that brings the roller coaster car up and makes it go on the track.

When putting this toy together, you have to make sure that all of the links on the chain are facing the right way, or it won't go through the spinning gear smoothly. Although, even when all of the links are perfect, when the roller coaster car makes it to the top and reaches the spinning gear, 7 out of 10 times it will get stuck and make this horrible grinding noise until it gets pushed through. It still works, it is just a bit of a nuisance to have to hear this happen almost every time the car goes through. Other than that, this is a fun, interactive toy for kids to build and play with. The T-Rex Fury Roller Coaster set is a great STEM project to work on with your kids or even other adults.

It is time consuming and requires concentration and coordination to successfully put together. The instructions are very easy to follow and everything is nicely color coded making it easier for young builders. The pieces are very small and flimsy so it is easy with such a large amount of pieces to lose them during the building process. I recommend making a dedicated space for building such as a large table and if you have something with edges, that would be even better.

Because this coaster is so fragile, be sure to keep up away from smaller kiddos and pets. My daughter and husband had to rebuild several sections after destruction by the toddlers occurred, making it frustrating and even longer of a process. They were entertained by the cardboard t-rex but unfortunately had it bent before it could be put on the coaster at completion. Once fully constructed, the coaster is about 2 feet tall so it does take up quite a bit of space.

Given its size and flimsiness, it is hard to keep it together long. That being said, the time that goes into putting it together makes your children proud of their accomplishment and they tend to take better care of it accordingly. The app was exciting for our 2 and 3 year old to see, but for our 14 year old it was 'lame' per her words. Overall, I love that it put her mind and skill to the test and she was proud of accomplishing the final product, even through all the frustration along the way!

Great teaching tool. The k'nex (t'rex) was one of the hardest toys I have ever assembled. Kids would definitely need some assistance placing this track together. Placing the K'nex together was fairly easy starting off. Getting towards the end is where the instructions became very confusing. After finishing the track we found out that the track cart was broken and was pointless of assembling the track anyway. So my advice, insure to check all the piece that's included.

It took me approximately 5 hours to assemble the track and I definitely regret wasting my time. The piece a very small so be sure to find a bucket or something to secure the pieces from kids or small pets. Good luck with this challenge. My 4 boys have played with blocks and Legos for years, so this K'nex T-rex building 'toy' is different and refreshing. Just from looking at the Box and instructions, it seems a bit complex and will take some concentration and skill to properly build it. Which is a bit different from Legos (that gives you this easy step-by-step process that is almost foolproof). The instructions to this building set is pretty easy but is not intended for younger children whatsoever, unless you plan on seriously helping them!

With having so many boys in our household, I have really run out of storage areas in their rooms to showcase any type of toy that they have built - I know after their hard work, they will want to keep this in tact (whether they play with it or not) as a trophy of their hard work. With that being said, I may need to clean out some space on their shelves! What makes this unique is that it does something rather than just sit around, but can actually be played with. The durability of the structure once it's built is unknown because I am saving it for my son's birthday coming up, but I'm really hoping that that it doesn't fall apart easily when being played with and that and it's fun to interact with through their cellphones as advertised! This is a very involved kit to build, even for a old granny like me.

I've built all kinds of ships, airplanes, cars, etc. But this one was filled with tons of tiny pieces that are really easy to pop off and fly somewhere else and are not fun to try and find afterwards, lol.

First thing I have to say is this.MAKE SURE TO SEPARATE AND COUNT ALL OF YOUR PIECES TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS THERE BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO BUILD! I didn't and got more than 3/4 of the way done only to find a bunch of crucial pieces were missing from the kit. It happened more than once as well, there were other parts missing as well. I also got another one of the kits from this company and all of those tiny parts were there, so I assumed it would be the same way here. That was my mistake:/ It does say inside the instruction booklet to contact them using the information on the back cover, if anything is missing. Now, I didn't get it fully built as a result of not having all of the parts in the kit, but I did get it 3/4ths of the way done.

I did take measurements of it at that point.Height was 30', Length was 25' and width was 12'. So yes, you're going to need a large bit of area in which to work with this:) I did enjoy building it, although it does require some finger strength to snap some of the more intricate parts into one another.

After a few hours of building this, I have to admit that my fingertips began to be a bit tender. This is recommended for children ages 9-14 and even at those ages, I would supervise or at least remain nearby so you're ready to offer help for the tricky parts.

The large printed thin cardstock pictures of the T-Rex Dinosaur add a bit of interest to the finished look of this roller coaster. Now, I don't have a very current Android device, mine is rather old (ver. 4.1) but I did download and install the App for this toy and it looked to be working or attempted to but my graphics card wasn't fast enough and so it didn't work well for me and just froze up at the beginning. But it DID look like it would be quite fun to watch in action:/ Whom would I recommend this toy for? I would recommend it for children who are into something very technical in building and who are patient and organized. I also think it's fun for adults who want to have a bit of fun:).

Following review is on the K'NEX T-Rex Fury Roller Coaster Building Set. I love building, remodeling, and projects. With that said my little boy has always been eager to assist, participate and work right beside me. Recently, I have been contemplating games that will not only entertain, but challenge my son intellectually. I have hit the Jackpot! This is an excellent project to work on with your child, it provides opportunities for growth, opens doors for bonding, communication, organizational skills, builds confidence and teamwork.

Assembly was roughly 3 hours, however, that is including 2 people (1 adult/1 child) and our first build. Directions provided are clean, clear and simple to follow. TIP: Separate pieces into small craft containers and section dividers (organizational skills). Pieces are semi-flexible, snap together and easy to work with. Install 2 (AA) batteries prior to mounting, will make life easier. During assembly, I asked my son to give me requested # of pieces, part type and gave guidance when constructing pieces together. This allows him the opportunity to follow instructions and me the opportunity to effectively communicate with my son (teamwork).

Recommendation: Sections 28 & 29 when wrapping the rails around the tower - A bit more clarification on the number of (2) railings would be very helpful. Overall, I really enjoyed this project, my son and I had a great time working on this together, it opens the door for bonding, teamwork, and rewards such as: seeing the finished product, knowing together, you created this and best of all watching my 2 little ones enjoy playing with it!

I highly recommend these K'NEX sets they're fun, challenging, and very rewarding. This is only our second ever Knex set so for us we are still learning how to build and follow their instructions, it took us well over an hour to put this coaster set together. I am learning that it is much easier to get organized and separate all your pieces into groups, it makes it much faster to find the piece you want, plus helps you keep track of all the pieces, one downside for me is that they do not give you any extra pieces so if you lose one you are out if luck unless you have extra from a previous build. As for the size it is quite large, a little over 2ft tall, we are keeping it on the floor to make it easier to play with, plus it helps to keep it on a flat surface, if it is at all off balance or the track is not all the way snapped in it will not work right.

Once we had it running my kids loved it, it moves very fast and they loved to watch it, they liked that it had a motor and would pull the car up, but honestly though they would enjoy it without the motor just as much and it would be easier because sometimes it gets stuck going up the track and it gets them frustrated. The paper t-rex decor that you put on it looks cool but it's really not needed and can get in the way of the car if it's not placed just right. We have not had any luck downloading the app yet, seems to go no where every time we try so I can't speak for that yet.

I definitely would recommend, both my boys enjoy it, just be prepared to help build it with your kids, it takes time and may not be easy for the younger kids. This is the second one I have received and once again I love this because it gave my daughter and I something to do together as a family. We sat at the kitchen table and pulled every thing out the box and got to working. It was fun and creative to build and place the stickers on it.

It took us about an hour and 30 minutes to get it all together because I allowed her to help me. The instructions were perfect and easy to follow. Once again, my daughter couldn't wait to use the roller coaster. This is a very creative. My 13 year old had a blast putting this together.

She spent roughly 3 hours away from her phone and console system. She used to love Legos and mentioned this activity was a mature version. I like that it kept her attention, but there are lots of pieces, so keep that in mind. I could see this being a neat gift for girls or boys.

My daughter was enthralled with the roller coaster. We did not use it with app. The roller coaster was awesome. This would be great for a STEM project just keep in mind there are lots of small parts that can go missing.
